An exceptionally rare 18th-century Breccia marble sink of impressive proportions, featuring richly veined pink, cream and ochre stone. Breccia marble is a natural stone characterised by angular fragments of different colours bonded together in a unique, striking pattern. The front of the sink is adorned with an elegant bolection moulding and two clipped corners. The central octagonal basin is flanked by two gently inward-sloping draining boards. In very good, usable condition, the marble displays an authentic aged patina, with signs of wear and small losses along the edges and body. The smooth basin floor ensures excellent water drainage. Structurally sound, with no breaks or cracks, and perfectly watertight.
