A rare 18th-century French Languedoc marble sink, distinguished by its elegant moulded front. The generously proportioned sink has an oval inner basin flanked by two drainboards, with a smooth interior that gently slopes towards the drain hole, ensuring excellent water drainage.
The richly coloured marble displays beautiful varied natural tones, ranging from deep blood red and cherry red to orange-red and rich burgundy, accented by prominent white, cream, pink and grey veining with distinctive quartz streaks.
The sink is in very good, usable condition, with no cracks or breaks. The marble surface shows some wear, while one small loss to the upper front rim, together with a few minor chips, scuffs and knocks, is consistent with its age and use (please refer to the photographs). Structurally sound and perfectly watertight, this handsome and characterful sink retains a beautiful aged patina
