A charming small 18th-century Dutch rectangular basin, carved from black limestone with a simple bolection-style upper moulding and a finely chiselled finish across the body, giving it plenty of character and a beautiful, authentic aged appearance. The stone has the natural inclusions typical of this type of black limestone, with small white fossils and crystals visible throughout.
There are some small losses and signs of wear along the edges, consistent with its age and previous use. Please refer to the photos for condition and details. Overall, it is structurally sound, watertight, and in excellent usable condition.
