A handsome 19th-century oval black stone basin with a distinctive bathtub-shaped body, beautifully hand-carved and chiseled throughout. The richly textured surface and moulded detailing give it a strong architectural character. Some light wear to the moulding and a few small chips to the base, consistent with age. Otherwise in excellent, usable condition—no cracks or breaks, structurally sound, with excellent water drainage toward the drain hole.
