A large, late 18th/ early 19th century marble sink

A vey rare, solid marble sink carved out of "Boulogne" marble, once quarried in northern France. The body of the sink features a bold bolection moulding with fine chiseling. In very good, usable condition. Some wear on the upper rim, consistent with age and use. A few chips on the lower and back edge. The inner surface of the sink is smooth and allows a perfect drainage of the water. Structurally sound and perfectly water tight.

Rescued from an estate close to St-Omer, Northern France, ca. 1800
