A rare, mid-18th century, Dutch limestone sink

A large, rectangular black stone sink featuring a beautifully carved bolection moulding on the front and lateral sides. Very fine, chiseled finish on the body.  Structurally sound, no ,cracks or breaks, in excellent, usable condition. Some light wear on the upper edge, consistent with age and use. The sink was carved out Belgian "Petit granit" limestone. The stone shows the typical inclusion of small, white marine fossils and shells and two larger, white crystals on the front and bottom of the sink.
