A late 16th/ early 17th cent. marble font

A substantial, late Renaissance circular marble font. Tapered and faceted body, resting on a square base. Chiseled and hammered finish on the surface. A few, small losses on the upper edge and body. Two holes on the front and back side, probably to secure a metal lid. Structurally sound and watertight.
