A substantial , 18th century French marble sink

A large, rectangular marble sink with moulded body. Carved out of a beautifully veined "Rouge du Languedoc" marble. In very good, usable condition. Several ships and small losses on the body and upper and lower edges (please refer to pictures). Some wear on the upper rim, consistent with age and use. The surface of the bottom is smooth and allows a perfect water drainage. Structurally sound and watertight.

Rescued from a town house in Pézenas, Southern France, ca. 1750-1800
