A really beautiful, large scale, mid-18th century oval marble font. Carved out of "Rouge de Rance" marble, once quarried in Southern Belgium. Some wear on the body, a few chips on the rim, consistent with age and use. One small loss on the right, back rim (please refer to pictures). Otherwise in excellent, usable condition. No cracks or breaks, structurally perfectly sound and watertight.
