An 18th century, circular black limestone font

A rare, cylindrical stone font, carved out of Belgian "Petit Granit" limestone. Beautifully carved bolection moulding at the base. Delicate chiseled finish on the body. A few knocks, chips and losses on the body and base (please refer to pictures). Otherwise in excellent, usable condition. Two ancient fixation holes on the underside of the basin. Structurally sound, no cracks or breaks.
