A rare, late 18th century "Languedoc" marble sink

A rare, oblong marble sink carved out of an intricately veined, French "Languedoc" marble. Beautifully moulded, upper rim with bowed front. In very good, usable condition. A few chips on the rim and body. A small loss on the inner, back right edge (please refer to pictures). Two ancient anchoring holes at the back. Structurally sound and perfectly water tight.

Rescued from a town house in Montpellier, Southern France, ca. 1800

Diameter drain hole: 5.2cm / 2". Any modern drain plug will fit.
