A nicely veined, 18th century limestone sink

Reference N°:

189

A rare, slightly trapezoidal, mid-18th century stone sink. Carved out of an intricately veined hard limestone from the Burgundy region in France. Elaborate moulding on the body. Roughly hewn ends on the lateral sides, as these parts were originally inserted into the wall. A few chips on the upper rim and superficial hairline cracks on the body, not affecting the structure. Some light wear consistent with age and use. Otherwise in excellent, usable condition. Structurally sound, no cracks or breaks. The surface of the bottom of the sink is smooth and allows a perfect water drainage.
