A substantial, 18th century Belgian marble sink

A rare, rectangular sink carved out of Belgian "Gris de Sainte Anne" marble. Featuring convex bend corners on the inner side. Elaborate bolection moulding on the front and lateral sides. Finely chiseled body. A few, unobtrusive knocks on the upper, front rim (please refer to pictures). One, small loss at the back, left corner. Some wear, commensurate with age and use. General, excellent, usable condition. The inner surface of the sink is smooth and allows a perfect water drainage.

Rescued from a town house in Liège, Southern Belgium, 18th century.
