A splendid, black stone font, carved out of Belgian "petit granit" limestone. Finely carved gadroons on the body. Some wear on the body, consistent with age and use. A few losses on the upper rim and body, otherwise in excellent, usable condition. No cracks or breaks, structurally sound and perfectly water tight. Petit Granit limestone has a unique texture with its characteristic, fossilised white shells and other organic inclusions.
