A vibrant, 18th cent. "Languedoc" marble sink

A rectangular, burgundy colour marble sink carved out of a beautifully veined Languedoc marble. Two, smoothly undulating drain boards on the sides. "Bird's beak" moulding on the front and lateral sides. Some light wear consistent with age and use. One small loss on the front rim and an old repair to the right front corner(please refer to images). No cracks or breaks. Structurally sound and perfectly water tight.

Inner height basin: 9cm / 3.5"

Rescued from a town house in Montpellier, ca. 1780-1800
